Thanks to our many years of activity and extensive experience, we can draw on a large supplier network when procuring components. Our Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a central component in ensuring efficient supply chains.
Schaffner GmbH has a very large warehouse in relation to its operations.
We manage almost 9000 different components with proactive lifecycle management.
Component procurement in a secure supplier network
Stock is managed according to the FIFO principle (First In First Out), whether for components, PCBs or assembled modules. This ensures that no uncontrolled ageing of components occurs. Moisture-sensitive components (MSL Moisture sensitivity level) are monitored and, if necessary, treated in an annealing oven and vacuum-packed in moisture-resistant packaging. Auxiliary materials with a limited shelf life are preserved in the warehouse and in the production areas, monitored and - if necessary - managed in accordance with environmental regulations or disposed of properly.

With the rapid increase in component diversity, components are now being discontinued much earlier, and it is essential to cover this with a constantly growing component management system. With our proactive obsolescence and alternative component management, we help you to avoid major surprises and inform you as early as possible about lifecycle changes to the components you use.
